East Coast Travel Ideas
Looking for a warm climate, progressive east coast town…?
My family all lives on the east coast but I’m truly a NW girl at heart. I’m looking to go to graduate school a bit closer to home (upstate New York) but can’t stand the idea of cold winters.
I’ve done quite a bit of traveling as well as research on the subject and I’m stumped. Please help out! I’m looking for ideas for a city or town:
with a large university to do a masters program
very progressive (left) ie. activist, queer, vegetarian etc friendly
with a warm climate
Ideas? City and university?
University of Florida. Gainesville is very warm and pretty liberal. Its also a very large school.
Travel Yemen
I WANT TO TRAVEL TO YEMEN FROM CAMEROON.I WANT INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET THERE?
I AM A CAMEROONIAN AND WE DON’T HAVE THE YEMENI EMBASSY HERE, I WONDER IF SOME ONE CAN TELL WHERE TO GET A YEMENI VISA FROM MY CONTRY
You would have to contact the Yemeni Embassy in the nearest country. Maybe you can email them or call. Find out in which of your neighboring country there is a Yemeni Embassy, then maybe you can find a website (I doubt it though) or a number to call.
Travelling Present Ideas
There is no record … wedding gift ideas?
Two of my friends are getting married this year. None of them have gift lists and I'm a little low on ideas! One of them, she and her boyfriend are very traditional, which makes a lot of cooking and grows most of their own food. I was wondering about how could be a crystal bowl or something for them, but I'm not sure at all! The other two are very modern and in the military and so can travel a lot. Ideas …?
For the cook, I'd probably get some kitchen utensils well done – perhaps a piece of Le Creuset enameled baking, or a bit of luxury cake / pie pans, or as a doctor, we really appreciate the opportunity to order food British.
Monica Travel

How much would a cab ride from downtown Los Angeles (S. Broadway) to the beach at Santa Monica cost more or less?
… And how long it might take the road if I had to travel in the afternoon with traffic, etc.
Why take a taxi?? Los Angeles has one of the better public transport in the world that could get between the two locations quickly and for less than $ 2 each way! Between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica There are several bus lines that make the trip, the fastest of which is the Santa Monica Blue Bus # 10 which is an express line that takes only 30 minutes of way. Other bus routes between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica include the MTA # 33 and 333 Venice Blvd, # 720 Wilshire rapid, and the # 704 Santa Monica Quick Blvd. Good luck and avoid the taxi! Traffic can get where they need to go!
