How To Learn Italian In Italy Through Overseas Study Programs

In a job market where everyone has a college degree, to say that it is challenging to find a job is a major understatement. In fact, even people who have earned their college degrees are still finding it hard to break into the job market. With employers being as discerning as possible in selecting applicants for what few positions are available, it pays to stand out from the competition. Right now, Italian-Americans are the fourth largest European ethnic group in the United States and seventh largest ethnic group overall. Many students consider enrolling in Italian schools abroad because of the fact that a good number of the Italian-American population would rather speak their own language than they would English. Employers value the ability to speak in other languages, especially one that a good number of their clients are likely to speak more fluently.

There are a number of benefits to learning Italian by studying in Florence, Italy as opposed to back home. For one thing, you get to converse in the language with people who speak it natively, an experience which is invaluable as you will be forced to use it much more often. You will be able to learn the language much faster because of this, as not only will you be using it in the classroom environment, but everywhere you go as well. As you will be taking up classes in Rome Italian schools over the summer or an entire semester, you will soon be able to pick up the language, likely in a shorter time frame too. There’s also the fact you will be doing it all in Italy, one of the most culturally rich locations on the planet. Who would be able to help wanting to learn Italian at a famed tourist destination if they had the means to do it?

There are a number of colleges and universities in the United States that are affiliated with a few programs that would allow students to study abroad to earn their academic credits and absorb valuable life experiences. If you are interested in signing up for one of these programs, you should first try to approach your school counselor or academic adviser to inquire about available programs that will allow you to learn Italian in Florence. Ensure that completion of these courses will be credited to you back home. Lastly, you should make sure you have available funds to finance such a trip, as it will definitely cost you. Take note that you need to take care of yourself for the next several months until the program is completed.
